The fact that he can feel what she's feeling without it making him nervous is very helpful. It makes him someone safe. All the same, she's glad that he gives her a little space to keep her from becoming too embarrassed. She's obviously struggling with expressing her emotions. For all the kindness she shows others, she reluctant to extend any of that grace to herself.

"Th-that... that I can't turn off my feelings. I can't... I can't move on, not when he's still out there..." She rubs at her eyes and sighs. "And then I'd probably cry. A lot."
