"When you put it like that, it does sound reassuring," she says finally. "But the way it's been presented to me... it's as if there is a purpose behind me surviving, as opposed to someone else. That there was a reason that so many people needed to die, but not me. And... that's not comforting, not at all. I like for things to make sense, but I don't think that ever will."
She smiles faintly. "I have thought about that, how we break down into the very elements that make up the universe." Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to apply it to Caspar, whose body was replaceable. "This is... sorry. This isn't the best topic over lunch, is it?"
