chiron_survivor: (sad on the inside)

Heading further inside as instructed, Adia pauses at the entranceway, taking in her friend's appearance. With her hood up and her body hunched in, she looks more like a mourner than someone doing research. It reminds her of Felix, of all people, how he huddled close to the Halloween bonfire, hoping no one would spare him a second glance.

What happened that night, she wonders. She feels a pang of guilt for not noticing sooner.

She smiles timidly and scoots further into the room when Amelia greets her. "No, I found it fine." She winces internally at that fake smile, although she doesn't know what to make of the surprise that follows. "Thanks. I... yeah."

Taking a seat as close as she can without disrupting her papers, she plucks at the strap of her messenger bag, unsure of how to tell her the good news. It doesn't seem as important as unpacking her friend's sadness.

"Do you happen to have on you that drawing I gave you? Or is it somewhere else?"
