Despite her pleasant, if a little vacant, smiles and friendly 'hello's when they've seen each other since Halloween, the rogue hasn't been well. She wants to be seen and acknowledged, but she doesn't really want to interact with anyone. It's easier to keep everyone at arms' length when she's not ready - or willing - to deal with what happened in the Nightmare.
And honestly? Amelia wants nothing to do with someone who's been smiling honestly and seemed to be in such a good mood after that night. It makes her feel weak, like her way of dealing with things is all wrong which it is, or that she's somehow less than everyone else to be struggling the way she is. It's frustrating, and the last thing she wants is to deal with it.
There's no way to avoid the text message, though. If she lets it sit too long, she knows Adia will try to track her down, as she did after Steve's disappearance. And given how often they've seen each other in the garden lately, it'll be sooner than later if the other woman wanders there today. With a sigh, she pulls off one of her gloves so she can type a message back to her friend.
I'm in the garden today. Small house directly across the stream from the path entrance. You can come by if you'd like.
It's really a much nicer text than the "Can you just tell me over text?" message she wanted to send. She sighs again and puts her glove back on, setting her phone down next to her so she can see Adia's reply before pulling her cloak a bit further around her as she settles in to read a little more.
